As our Year 12 students step one foot closer to leaving our College they and their teachers are very busy making sure all of the necessary class work and exam revision has occurred before they finish with us this Friday. I attended College during the recent holidays and was very impressed with the diligent approach our Year 12 students had to their ATAR mock examinations that were occurring during this time and I am sure that the feedback and support students will receive from their course teachers will help them achieve their maximum ATAR exam results.  I wish all of our ATAR students the best for their upcoming examinations that commence on October 30.

Of course our Year 12 students will not leave us without enjoying a delicious farewell breakfast that will take place this Friday morning at 7.30am in the College Café. Staff will be cooking a lovely breakfast and I look forward to having this meal and catching up with our departing students.  Our Year 12 students will also be participating in two very important Presentation Ceremony rehearsals in the College gymnasium on Thursday 17 October and Friday 18 October at 9.00am.

Each year we come together as a larger community to celebrate the achievement of all of our Year 12 students, along with the achievements of the Cannington Community Education Centre students, at our Year 12 Presentation Ceremony.  This important event will be held at the Astral Ballroom, Crown Entertainment Complex, on Saturday November 9 (10.30am – 12.30pm).  I am looking forward to congratulating and recognising our Year 12 students as they move from Sevenoaks to the next exciting chapter of their life.  I am also looking forward to seeing family members and loved ones at this special event.

This term (9 and 10 December) teachers and staff members will get to know the incoming Year 10 students from our feeder schools, Cannington Community College and Yule Brook College (and students from other schools) at our two-day Year 10 Orientation Program.  Year 10 students will have the unique opportunity to meet their teachers and familiarise themselves with the College before they begin their Year 11 studies in 2020.  I am looking forward to meeting and speaking with students over the two enjoyable days.

Our current Year 11 students are still very busy completing their term four course and VET work. Year 11 examinations will occur in week 5 of this term (11 – 15 November) and Year 11 Workplace Learning students will be out at a variety of work sites following on from the examinations (18 – 29 November).  Good luck to all of our Year 11 students sitting exams and heading out on Workplace Learning.

We are currently taking enrolments for 2020. Parents of new students wishing to attend Sevenoaks next year are requested to make an appointment to meet with Mrs Fiona Thomson, the College Operations Coordinator, to complete the necessary enrolment documentation. Please contact the College reception on 9 356 4900 to book a suitable time to meet with Mrs Thomson

The last day of College for teachers is 19 December. The College will re-open for business on January 20 between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm.

I am available to meet with parents so please feel free to contact the College if you would like to make an appointment.
