The Oil and Gas industry are targeting Year 12 graduates (graduating this year or last year) and they will be advertising a National Energy Technicians Training Scheme (NETTS) which will involve apprenticeships in Process Plant Operations, Mechanical Fitting and Electrical Instrumentation.
This entry level program into the oil and gas industry will involve 2 years of fully paid training (and wages) based at ACEPT in Munster with on-the-job training at Perth based Oil and Gas supply chains. For the final two years of the program the successful applicants will work on a FIFO basis, gaining experience in onshore and offshore facilities.
Applications will open on 2 September and close on 18 September.
The Energy Apprenticeship Group (EAG) are looking for students who will successfully complete year 12 this year with good results in Maths, English and Science. (Ex students who completed year 12 in 2015 can also apply). See attached fliers.
EAG would like to give a presentation to interested students to inform them about the program and answer questions etc. These information sessions can be arranged during school hours, or after school or at night and will need to be done before applications close. I am liaising with the EAG Apprenticeship Adviser to organize these sessions at up to 3 different venues in our South Metro Region. These will need to be organized quickly to enable students to attend and then apply before the closing date. If schools think they may have students interested in attending an Information Session, and/or they would like to host one of these sessions for interested year 12 students, please contact me via email, with preferred times – i.e. school hours; after school; evening.
