Dear parents/carers and students,
On advice from WA Health, I am providing the following information. There have been positive cases of COVID-19 at Sevenoaks Senior College.
The students attended Year 11 classes and were likely infectious on Monday 28 February 2022.
We have contacted all students who we have identified as close contacts, and they are required to get tested and isolate for 7 days.
These students will be in isolation until March 7 and will be allowed to return to the College on March 8, provided they return a negative test result.
Advice for all parents and carers:
- If you have not been contacted by the school, then your son/daughter should attend school.
- If your son/daughter does develop symptoms, they should not attend school. They should get tested at one of the clinics listed on the website below.
In the future:
- Any student who is tested must isolate for 7 days and may return to school on the 8th day.
- Students who have the first test, also need to be tested again on the 6th day. If both these tests are negative, they may return to school.
To find a COVID-19 PCR testing clinic near you, please visit the dedicated Healthy WA COVID-19 Testing Clinic Website: https://www.healthywa.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/Coronavirus/COVID-clinics
Please note all PCR tests are free of charge and will return the most accurate result.
It is imperative that anyone attending a COVID-19 testing clinic be respectful and follow directions from clinic staff at all times. Please be patient whilst waiting your turn to be tested. The clinics are becoming busier and there are queues.
The WA Government has recently announced that every household in Western Australia can register to receive 5 free COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs). If you would like to make use of this service, you can register here: https://testkitpublic.digital.wa.gov.au/
Alternatively, RATs are available for purchase at a number of pharmacies around Perth. Please contact your local pharmacy to confirm stock numbers beforehand.
If you have queries or concerns, please contact WA Health on 1300 316 555.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Karen Read
Principal
